Originally a sumptous farm house built in the XIX century which has been restored into a beautiful independent villa, this property holds an excellent countryside position with far reaching views to the Caminha hills.
Ornamental gardens and large lawn surround the generous swimming pool, where you can lay on a sun lounger, sit reading a book in one of the comfy chairs or dip into the cool waters - fun for everyone!
Extremely easy to reach (only a 50 minute drive from Porto international airport) this villa is situated only 7 kms away from the white sandy beaches of Caminha, a charming traditional Portuguese fortified border town steeped in history, where several battles were fought between Portugal and Spain. Nowadays, this town enjoys much more friendly relations with its neighbour and there is a daily ferry-boat linking the two banks of the river. Standing on a tiny island in the middle of the estuary are the ruins of the fort of Ínsua, built to defend the entrance to the river in the fifteenth century.
The sands of Vila Praia de Âncora (10 minutes away from the villa) extend from the fishing port over to the Âncora river which reaches the coast here after its 15 kilometre descent through the Serra de Arga hills, an attractive natural environment, which features some good walking conditions. This enormous beach experiences some strong Atlantic waves which means high quality surfing. This town is also famous for the variety of good seafood and fresh fish restaurants.
Extra services are available on request such as Chef for traditional Portuguese cuisine, winetasting courses, masseur, beautician, organisation of guided tours to nearby attractions with stops in typical places and local olive oil and wine tasting, horse riding, golf, water sports, etc.
Two storey villa
The homely, family-friendly villa can comfortably accommodate up to nine guests. On the ground floor is the main living accommodation which comprises of living and dining rooms with doors opening onto the exterior terrace with table and chairs ideal for alfresco dining. Living room with comfortable seating and doors opening onto the same large terrace. Fully-equipped fitted kitchen which comes complete with all necessary modern facilities. Guest toilet.
Upstairs: master master bedroom with ensuite bathroom. Further 3 bedrooms of which 1 has a double bed and the other 2 are twin, sharing a full bathroom. An additional bed is available on this floor sleeping a child.
The beautifully maintained garden and private pool are surrounded by lush olive groves, perfect place to spend a lazy day under the Minho sunshine while admiring the views of the area! Take a dip and cool off after a long day of exploring the wonderful surrounding region or spend an evening dining al fresco on local delicacies on the terrace with your nearest and dearest.
