An excellent conversion of a farming cottage which was once used by the locals for grain storage, however very little remains from the original construction. The owner has taken great care to provide some extras in order to create an extremely comfortable and incredibly well equipped holiday villa. This luxurious house is located in a small village on the border of Portugal's only National Park - the Peneda Geres - which has spectacular scenery and a wide variety of flora and fauna. In addition to the private swimming pool, guests have a private a playground area with a football goal and a basket hoop - a delight for children and adults.

The nearby village of Ponte da Barca has a lovely XV century parish church and an old town square, but the principal attraction is the fine arched bridge built in 1543. The charming riverside town of Ponte de Lima is about 19 kilometres away with an admirable 18 hole golf course. The small village of Soajo, where there is a colourful market on the first Sunday every month, is a short drive away. Of
particular interest are the communal espigueiros, granite-built grain stores risen on mushroom-shaped legs.

Accommodation (a single storey house):

To the left of the entrance hall is the excellent fully fitted kitchen with dining table for 8 people. French windows opening onto the covered terrace facing the main entrance. A door leading out to the garden. Storage room. To the right of the front door the entrance hall opens into the living room with comfortable seating, open fireplace, cards / board games table and satellite TV. A door opens into the bedroom area. Leading off the small corridor is a double bedroom with queen size bed and ensuite shower room. There is a second bedroom with twin beds and ensuite shower room. At the end of the corridor is the master ensuite bedroom with queen size bed and ensuite jacuzzi bathroom.

Exterior: Beautiful extensive garden with orange, lemon and lime trees. Balcony overlooking the swimming pool and river at distance. Annex with open plan kitchen and shower room. French windows leading onto the pool terrace and barbecue area. Tables and chairs ideal for outdoor dining. The swimming pool is 10 metres long and 4,5 metres wide. The depth is from 60 centimetres to 1,70 metres. The views from the pool and surrounding lawns and terraces are outstanding.
