Location: Sousel, Alentejo Region

Situated on a hill overlooking the vast Alentejo plains, stands the white-painted walls and peaceful Pousada de Sousel - Sao Miguel , with its cinegetic interior designs that is always waiting for the shooting, leisure and unique rich cuisine lovers. Sousel has the oldest bullring in Portugal. Located near the Maranhao dam, it is also ideal for fishing and water sports.

Accommodation: The Pousada has 28 rooms and 4 Suites. All rooms are equipped with air conditioning, mini-bar, telephone, cable TV, hair-drier, bathing gowns.

Pousada History: The Sousel village is located in Alentejo, 17km far away from Estremoz and 55km from Portalegre, a region with rare beauty, with a fertile land and many riversides. This village was founded by the constable D. Nuno Alvares Pereira and is surrounded by lands that are known for having many species with cynegetic interest. Not far away from the village, on the top of the Sao Miguel hillock, is the Pousada Sao Miguel, the first cynegetic tourism space of Portugal , being equipped with a kennel. But not only the hunting lovers may look for this Pousada, as near it there is the most ancient bull-ring of Portugal and the Maranhao dam ( 25 km ), which makes it possible to fish and do water sports. With a wonderful view, this comfortable Pousada has a bar called O Condestavel, the restaurant A Reserva where you can appreciate the regional gastronomy, the multifaceted room Sousel and the meeting room Sala do Lago with natural light. This perfect harmony with the landscape that surrounds the Pousada, makes it the ideal place for all the ones that believe that the nature's beauty, the sympathy of the people, the regional gastronomy and the wine quality, are the true description of this region.

Gastronomy: Having the most perfect tradition of Alentejo that makes anyone travel through time, the Pousada proposes to its guests the “Flavours of the Mount”. This menu includes the regional costumes, the regional gastronomy and the superb wines, in perfect harmony with the landscape and the sympathy of the Alentejo people.

Banquets & Other Events: The Restaurant "A Reserva" has capacity for 180 people, and for more 180 when connected to the Sousel Saloon. Here you can taste the different and delicious food of Alentejo, right at the cosy fireside. In the Sousel Saloon it is possible for meetings or cocktails to take place, beside the two fireplaces that comfort us in winter. The Bar "O Condestavel" has an esplanade over a beautiful olive grove.
