In the heart of the natural park of Serra de Air e Candeeiros, in the village of alvados, you wiil find “Casa dos Matos”.
A relaxing environment, a flaring landscape and an intersting programme, are the ingredients for an unforgettable stay...
But the real surprise starts when after a revitalising night's sleep we serve you a breakfast with all the treats the region has to offer: local farmer Laurinda’s eggs, dairy milk from Mr. Adeline’s cows, homemade bread straight from our firewood oven and jams from mother Rita.
From this moment onwards you are transported into a new world, one of aromas and flavours. Outside lays the unknown, just waiting to be discovered; a short walk away through the willows of Alvados, where the aroma of rosemary, bay leaves and many other aromatic plants inspire the day to come.
Days of adeventure await you; try paragliding, donkey rides, or BTT, or visit the beautiful caves. At night try the snacks of grandfather Joao or opt for one of the many local sweets. We occasionally organise moonlight walks and every month we have on offer a thematic weekend, such as mushroom picking, olive oil making or traditional architecture, for your family and friends to enjoy…
The House: Rebuilt from a small village house, the “Casa dos Matos” stiil keeps, in its essence, some of the original traces and elements of the old construction.
Relax with your friends and family in the room, sitting area or next to the fireplace. Serve yourself a drink from the Honesty Bar.
The Rooms: We have prepared six double rooms with colour coded names such as green, blue, brown, magenta, red and yellow, equipped with central heating, television and bathroom.
The swimming pool: Swimming pool with 9 x 4,5 meters, with 1,4m of dept, allowing to carry through diverse water games inside |
